What this policy covers.
This policy explains how deinfluence.fyi handles information when you browse the site, create an account, submit product information or reviews, or participate in moderation.
What we collect.
Account information may include your Google account’s stable sign-in identifier or verified email login, email-verification status, and your deinfluence.fyi handle. Contributor records may include country and eligibility status. We collect the reviews, ratings, recommendations, usage context, attestations, product suggestions, moderation actions, and product images you choose to submit. Company claims may include your claimed role, authority statement, supporting links, company-domain comparison, DNS challenge results, and the resulting private review and access history. We do not accept supporting document uploads for company claims.
We also process session and security information needed to keep you signed in, prevent cross-site request forgery, enforce access controls, diagnose failures, and protect the service. We do not use account authentication as proof of government identity or company authority.
Why we use it.
We use information to authenticate accounts, operate and secure the service, publish eligible reviews, calculate product scores, review submissions against our standards, investigate abuse, maintain audit records, and improve the product.
We do not sell personal information or collect extra behavioral information solely for resale. If our analytics practices materially change, we will update this policy before launching those uses.
When information is visible or shared.
Published reviews and their associated contributor handles are visible to other users. Submitted content may be visible to assigned moderators and administrators before publication. Company representative identities, claim evidence, disputes, and suspension reasons are visible only to the claimant and authorized administrators; public company pages show only the current verification status. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect people or the service, or investigate fraud and security incidents.
Service providers process information for us, including Google for account sign-in, Cloudflare for application hosting, transactional account email, and image delivery, and Neon for managed Postgres infrastructure. Their handling of information is also governed by their own privacy terms.
Your information over time.
We retain information for as long as needed to operate the service, preserve review and moderation integrity, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect against abuse. Retention can vary by record type. During the closed beta, privacy questions or requests should be sent through the same contact channel that granted your access.
How we protect and update this policy.
We use safeguards such as secure HTTP-only session cookies, same-site cookie controls, CSRF protection, private service connections, and role-based access. No system is completely secure. We may update this policy as the service evolves and will revise the date above when we do.
